Are there AIRSTREAMs in HAWAII ?
i there;
Next travel in USA is HAWAII on the last week of september '09 and first week of october. No way to see if there are AIRSTREAMs on this paradise, with the members map !!!
May be some surfers ( may be Robby NAISH ??) or some people in retirement so it's certainly no easy to bring the A/S in these isles...
Just to have a goal of visit and say hello and speak Airstream... I wonder to know ...
thank you by advance.
Bruno.

I know that there is at least a couple of AS'er in hawaii, cause they are member of our Unit, canadian atlantic unit by the way, so it's few miles apart.
Their AS stayed on the mainland though.

Bruno, I've been on the islands 4 times and I don't think I have ever seen any type of RV other than a small van conversion or something similar. They are rare indeed on the islands. There are 36 forum members with a Hawaii address, and of those about half own Airstreams...whether or not they keep them on the islands is another story.

I've got to say that it's a wonder that folks WOULD have an AS on the islands, since they are mostly quite small... Apart from "The Big Island" (Hawaii) the ones I have seen are small enough to go around in a day or two at the ourside. They can be quite hilly, too, so don't forget your F350!
Bruno, the cost to ship your trailer there would pay for an upgrade to a very fine hotel from a just good one.
Toute est possible, mais le coût de transporter un Airstream si loin que ça...? Incroyable!
Enfin, je vous conseil de passer plus que deux semaines là, parce que comme vous dites, c'est le paradis sur terre...!
Two weeks will pass faster than you think possible. Aloha!

If my wife and I manage to get our Overlander to 49 of the 50 states during our pre-retirement hiatus... we'll eventually have it shipped to Hawaii to make it an official 50-state Airstream.

Just a thought.....
Since there doesn't seem to be any type of RV's over there, I would wonder if there are any campgrounds/parks where you could even stay. I would research this well before you ship your AS over, as your choices may be limited.
Here's a couple links to some info:

Good luck! Let us know how it goes if and when you do get over there.

I know it costs about $1000 to ship a car to Hawaii from SF or LA. I wonder what it would cost to ship an Airstream...
Anyone have any experiences or stories of shipping oversize vehicles to Hawaii?
There are some job opportunities in Hawaii that I'm interested in, but I would only want to go with my silver significant other, you know?

I think so
When I was going over once, I asked Steve at Vintage Trailer Supply and he stated that he'd once shipped 70s Airstream parts over to Hawaii.. so my guess that there is at least one.. wonder what that salt air is doing to the frame?

Welcome to the forum . . . FYI Post #6 is almost 12-years old . . . however the user hampstead38 last posted here in January 2021, so they may see your question, or you could send them a Private Message [PM].
