Airstream Europe Gathering June 2013 Video

Here's a link to the video of the Airstream European June 2013 Gathering in Treffin Germany. Looks like a terrific rally.

It was indeed a very nice event, every bit as fun as Andrew Ditton's video above suggests. We attended in a borrowed Airstream 684. You can see more photos and some description in my blog entries:

http://airstreamlife.com/maze/2013/0...lburg-germany/

http://airstreamlife.com/maze/2013/0...bie-in-europe/

This was the largest Airstream gathering in Europe since the Wally Byam caravans of the 1950s. Armin Heun and his crew at Airstream Germany did a fantastic job. The event will be held again in 2015, at a location to be announced. The last I heard they were talking about locations in England and the Czech Republic, so it's anyone's guess where it will end up.

We attended the Euro 13 Rally and what a brilliant time we had.

Thanks to Andrew Ditton for a great video and also Armin Heun & his staff for their friendly welcome and excellent organisation.

Even though I lived in Europe for 7 years, I am not sure I have the courage to tow an Airstream over there. Some places would be OK....but if you are in most of the cities you are dealing with really narrow streets. I consider one of my greatest life successes was living in Brussels for 3 years and never hitting anyone or being hit....and I'm not sure how I'd react on the Autobahn if an S Class or a 911 went around me at 150 MPH..

I wouldn't take an Airstream into many cities. I lived in London for a large part of my life and the first thing my dad said when he saw pics of the trailer for the first time was "you couldn't tow that over here".

Having said that, I have zero intention of taking the silver beast into downtown Toronto either.

I wouldn't be too worried about the Autobahn. Last couple of times I was in Germany, we managed a max speed of 80mp/h or thereabouts. Traffic was just too heavy for anything faster.

Interesting to see the variety of tow vehicles used over there.

Here's another fantastic video

This video by Armin Heun of Airstream Germany was also shot at the Euro 13 Gathering. Really worth a look!

Both videos were outstanding in quality, I enjoyed looking at the various AS and owners. Looks like it was a lot of fun. Music wasn't bad either

Excellent videos. There were a few Weight Distribution systems in evidence, obviously in use on the non-European models.

Belrepayre 10th Anniversary meeting

In 2014, the place to take your Airstream is the 10th Anniversary Meeting at Belrepayre Airstream and Retro Trailer Park on the first weekend in August. Europe's only retro trailer park is holding what will be the biggest Airstream meeting in Europe so far. I'm told the 10th one is going to be bigger and better than the last 9 - and they were amazing. Music, comedy, circus, Airstreams to rent, etc., etc., Airstreams will be going there from all over Europe. I can recommend it as the place to take your Airstream this Summer.

This looks like an awesome event. What a wonderful thing it would be if I could be apart of the next event. Who shipped their AS over to Europe and how did it work shipping it over there. Has to be a once in a life time happening.

That's a cool event !

Did you notice how narrow the Euro AS's are ? They would a be great addition here for smaller TV's and older RV parks .

The amount of older AS's and vintage cars over there might help explain why its so hard to find them here.

Thanks for posting the videos
