Need recommendations for transport companies to pick-up and deliver 25 ft. Airstream

Any recommendations for a transport company to pick-up and deliver our 25 ft. Airstream from Portland, OR to Santa Fe, NM? Thank you.

Good morning,

A company I am associated with that is a national RV transporter is Synergy RV transport. They are out of Goshen Indiana. They deal primarily with new RV's, but also move private units. They are fully insured, bonded, DOT certified, have transporter plates, and so on. They do all of my shipping west of the Mississippi for me. The contact information is:

Synergy RV transport

Please ask for Jeremy Hartzel, and let him know that RJ referred him to you.

Can it be pulled?

If it is tow-able, you may want to consider USHIP.com, a site where you can put your need up and let companies and private haulers bid on the job. You need to make sure whomever you select is insured, has good recommendations etc. and you need to be explicit about what is needed to tow the trailer.

I had a car moved cross-country this way and was very happy with the cost and the results. I also had a trailer transported (hauled) cross country for my company and again had success.

Picking up 2008 Airstream 30ft 1000 miles from home.

Today I started my journey from Los Alamos, New Mexico to Salmon, Idaho to pick up my 2008 Airstream Classic 30ft. A zillion emotions especially since I never pulled anything like this and it is our first ever Airstream/RV. Nothing like jumping in the deep end of the pool. I thought long and hard in having a third party bring it to us, but sooner or later I need to manage this, besides the private seller has assured us he will guide us accordingly. This forum has been awesome.

Picking up 2008 Airstream 30ft 1000 miles from home.

Luigi,

Good luck picking up your Airstream. As a professional doing this all the time, my biggest recommendation is to be safe! (tires, break away system, battery, etc. ) Any questions you may have just post them. I can get back to you as quick as I can. I am delivering some Airstreams today also.

Best,

RJ

I have a second person with me, several challenges are: finding two nights lodging along the way, getting off the road to fill up, and just managing the interstate thru Salt Lake and Provo to highway 6/191. I have pulled (cargo)large trailers in the past but this seems like a real challenge. I am installing new rims and tires ( 16" ) and will have a few practice days before hitting the road. Have a few recommended pull through camp grounds on the way. You may get a "help" text along the way. Thanks--this forum has taught me soooooo much, and the community is awesome.

To find lodging along the way, that has parking for large vehicles check out hotels4truckers.com. Just select a city and will give you list of hotels. It free with a couple of hotels, or can get year membership to get full lusting cost is not much $ 9.95 per year.

Along with what has been mentioned, in some states the rest areas have RV hook-ups for campers. I know that along the I-80 route they do. You may want to check that option out also. The choice hotel chain, ie: econolodge, economy Inn, budget hotels, and such also have spaces at some facilities for the RV'ers. I have also used them. Their link is choicehotels.com

Enjoy your trip and am very glad to hear about you putting new wheels on and getting practice before you set out.

RJ,
It looks like you have a transport company. Your website is at the nascent stages so I thought I'd write directly to you.

I have an A/S I need transported from Sausalito CA to Westport CT. Would you be interested in discussing this with me? OR do you handle only vintage pieces?

Thanks!
Kira
