We bought our Flying Cloud back in May in Texas, had some trouble getting the Bill of Sale and Title from the owner but finally got all our paperwork in order.
However we’ve hit the road and are currently in Montana.
We’re full timing it and have an Escsppees address. I know ‘Texas requires an inspection to register the vehicle. Should we just try and register it in the next state we hit, or are we left with no choice but to hoof it back to Texas?
We really have no preference on where the plates come from as long as it’s legal.

This gets into just how the law is written in this or that state. Only a lawyer will be able to give you an exact answer. I'm most certainly not a lawyer .....

My understanding is that to register and get title in most states, you need to be a resident. Just how much of a resident .... who knows.

When you go to get insurance, in the past, they have wanted me to pay based on the state the registration and title are in. That just may be the oddities of the states I've moved between and my particular insurance outfit.

PA has an inspection requirement on trailers. Here you have to get the inspection first. You also have to get it re-inspected every year. It's abundantly unclear that this inspection really covers much on the trailer.
