let's now forget airstream sometimes gets creative with the length designations......in case you haven't noticed the classic 30s and 31s are exactly the same shell and same length.
it's hard to imagine they would produce another shell and frame 1 foot longer unless it's replacing the samller size shell.
so could the 22=23 or is it the other way 'round ?
I called Airstream today and they said the new 23' Safari is NOT a replacemeent for the 22' as the 22' is still a very popular model. I wish I could post the floorplan diagrams for you, but I don't have a scanner.

Ok, is this a wide body or the same width as the 22'? If so, then maybe they will put a queen bed in. That is one reason I'll never buy a modern 22', the tiny bed.
With a 5600lb GVWR sounds like a duck, looks like a duck, smells like a duck, I agree it must be a modded out 22' unit with a different floorplan (it is a duck).
As for a wide body. That would be very interesting if they did make it a wide body.

Hey, I resemble that remark!!
AYRSTRM2- You may be disappointed in the bed size- not a queen. In fact, when I called I asked sales to check the specs on the bed for me because the floorplan drawing gave measurements of 48"x75" (Bambi size) while the detailed Retail Pricing/Sales Order form reads "Corner Double Bed 54"x76" w/Storage under bed." I am waiting for an email reply from AS Sales Dept. to learn the true bed size.
The rear corner bed and corner dry bath layout looks to be similar to a 19' Bambi, while the front end of the trailer has the three seating options.
Here are a couple of floorplans I found on the Airstream website. The first is for the new 25' Safari with a reversed floorplan (i.e., bedroom in the front and dinette/kitchen in the rear) and the second is for the 22' Safari which also has the reversed floorplan.
Looks neat. Only one axle? Also it says one of the advantages of the 23' over the 19' is a larger bath? Looks identical to me...matter of fact, looks identical to the 25' widebody SS too.
Check out the photos on the website above and let me know what you think...
Look at the photo of the exterior of the Airstream and you will notice that the front nose has the classic style windows. Now look at the interior photo of the front of the unit with the sofa and tell me where are the classic style windows? The window shown in the interior shot is the safari style single window. Am I missing something here?
Good catch! Looking at the inside none of the windows (except the rear) are CCD/Special Edition style. It's fairly typical for Sutton RV to mix and match photos. I emailed them about a year ago saying that some of the pics on their website didn't match up. The response I got was simply, sorry, we're busy, that's why we have errors on our site...interested in a coach?
This is really a great floorplan. Frank says we can't have one as our second trailer because if we're towing 23' we might as well take the 28. He's right -- sigh -- I guess I'm going to have to keep fantasizing about a 16, 19 or T@b.

It's ok to fantasize. I've found that fantasizing is the first step in the process to making something a reality (eventually)!

I know Herbert Hoover promised "A chicken in every pot and an Airstream in every garage." But TWO Airstreams?!!! Why not?
