Vent covers

Has anyone found vent covers that actally look good on an Airstream? I like to keep the vents open while the unit is in storage and during rainy weather, but the typical Max-air vent covers would look pretty tacky on an Airstream.

Try here, they are the best I have found - except for the guy selling NOS on eBay (can you say bidding wars?).

We bought the smoke colored plexiglass ones from Inland for the two vents that were missing. We like the idea of still having daylight come in, even when they are closed. Hubby did say a few choice words during installation though.

Our plastic vent covers "are not" made with plexiglass.

They are made with Acrylite, which withstands the UV from the sun.

Plexiglass cannot be exposed to the sun, without incurring cracking and crazing.

I've got a 30 footer and all I do to vent when in storage is leave the stock bathroom fan vent open. Have no problems with condensation or stale odor and never any water on the floor after rain. My bath floor is tile so a few drops of water wouldn't be an issue anyway.

I think the original poster wanted a rain cover that went over the factory vent and allowed no water to come in if left open. Factory vents will not allow water to come in if they are just opened a little, but do not provide very much ventillation used that way. I know of no comercial product that is lower profile than the MaxAir product. If you buy Max Air, you need to specify their special model for Airstreams.
