Had to have some rear panels replaced and the clear coat on one of the replacement panels got scratched. So, the AS dealer in Colorado came up with this creative solution!

It was creative, but I'd be concerned that the scratch, if deep enough will have exposed the raw aluminum and eventually with water getting behind it (plus cold and thawing annually), those decals might be nothing more than a band aid...but it does look neat and it was creative.

The grey trim under the Airstream lettering is the non-factory install they are talking about. Typically the letters stick directly to the alum outer skin.
In this repair, the tech used some Airstream decals to cover the scratch, then placing the Airstream lettering on top of that.
Clearly, this was NOT a job done by a union technician!

Ahhh, I had never seen the "Airstream" with that on it but not being an expert I was not sure if it was factory or not. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's a great lookin' fix. The fact that most don't catch it proves it.
