Yes, that's right-we just purchased our third vintage Airstream! It looks like our 1974 Trade Wind was a gateway trailer.
Sweetpea 3 was sitting for two years out in the proverbial "field", actually in a pine forest in southern Oregon. She's in great shape, her skin is nearly flawless, all original interior, no soft spots in the flooring, the refrigerator and stove don't look like they've ever been used, Zolatone is amazingly clean and all of the wood veneer is intact without any chips or flakes. She just needs new interior appointments, a screen for one the vents repaired, her peeling linoleum tiles replaced and last but not least, a polish.
The owner didn't have any keys but we had no problem getting in and out of her, as the door wasn't locked. Well, we're now in beautiful downtown Redding (staying the night before we head home to the San Francisco bay area) and it seems that Gemma fiddled around the interior door knob and somehow, unbeknownst to her, locked it. Is there anything we can do to unlock it, short of drilling out the lock? All of the glass windows are latched and we don't have ANY keys to attempt to access the interior from any of the other doors.
