Thanks!
If you can incorporate a folding leg into your slide out, you can get away with lighter duty slides - I think that is a better option as the heavy duty ones are heavy and expensive too...

Drawers
These look like a cross between a mondrian and a shaker house to me. Lots of them, lots of magnets holding things shut, just one more to make...

Toilet in situ
This is bolted down now, also a view from the bottom. I can pump my gray tank through the pex line shown.

Carlos, I sent this to Uwe. though I'm get your opinion as well.
Don
Uwe, I'm thinking of looking at a early 60s Overlander. Carlos' idea of creating a Airstream Art studio has caught my fancy. Yes I am a madman. Could you give me any pointers to look for when I go look at this trailer. I know that it is in bad condition. That's why I am interested. Because I'm looking for something I can completely do my own thing with. And not feel any guilt about destroying a good trailer. I'm thinking of a way out 2+year project. I once asked my Dad if we had any Gypsies in the family. His response was " I'm not telling you everything". Anyway I'm thinking airbrushed graphics on the outside and a Carlos type interior. Open for suggestions.
Don
In the photo below it appears that the tank is inside the frame and extends below. It that correct? Do you have a floor plan of you layout? Would you be willing to share.

Are you using gray tank water to flush the little doggies down?
Great idea.

Don, that's right about the frame - it extends down about 3 inches for a 7" tall compartment. If I was to do it over I would find a stock sized tank first and then make the compartment to fit the tank - the stock tanks are about half the cost of the custom tanks. I ended up finding a couple stock tanks that more or less fit my spaces - but I sacrifice a few gallons for the economy.
The floorplan is somewhere here on my thread - back in the first half or so. I think a lot depends on the location of your windows. I will have a lot of table space and a pretty functional "camping" trailer as well - I think if you were just making a studio space it could be really great.

I have a draw from the grey water tank that goes through a secondary pump and is then used to flush the toilet. The line on the bottom there is a direct line from the grey tank pump in case I want to pump it out directly (without going through the toilet). I can use this to clean the hose from the macerator as well. Hope it works!

solar
I put the panel on top and the charge controller next to the batteries. I unplugged a few days ago to see if the panel would keep up - so far it has, I probably just don't use enough electric to run it down.

I used the old interior panels to finish up the belly.

Fridge and grey water pump
To the left of the little desk space will be the ice-box, and below, the pump for the grey water (which will flush the toilet).
The pump outputs to a t - one side goes to the toilet, the other goes through a shut-off valve underneath to the blackwater output. I can turn on the valve to run grey water directly to the output for cleaning out the hose after I pump out blackwater.
The switches are for the macerator ( a sort of safety switch to activate the pushbutton on the outside ), the pump for the grey water, and the icebox.

outputs
On the bottom: the blackwater exits the tank with a 90 degree turn, then goes through some slinky 3" tube to the valve, more tube to the macerator, then the macerator output goes to a t (the other side of the t is the greywater cleanup line). Looks like a mess

outside outputs
The outside view of the macerator setup. The hole on the right is access to the valve, the hole on the left is a quick-hookup for the output hose. I used an agricultural sprayer hookup.
(that's clean water...)

Shower pan
This is the main part of the shower pan - kind of beat-up and home-made looking to get everything to fit together.

Wow, Carlos, you're making excellent progress. I like the look of the shower pan. Sorta artisan-ish.
Is the macerator routing such that you always have to use it, or can you rush-flush the black tank directly?
I am not seeing how you could just flush the black without using the macerator. Is the macerator fast enough to create a nice rush of water inside the black tank? I always thought that the dumping is kind of slow with a macerator.

I have it set up as a macerator-only system, if this doesn't work out I have a twist-on twist-off fitting just after the valve and could probably fit in a three inch downward facing fitting there. I'd say it takes about 5 times as long to empty it with the macerator as just opening the valve, but this is only a couple minutes or so since the tank is only about 15 gallons (with clear water anyway)...

I am sure it will work fine, but you might consider making a provision so that you can power flush your tank a few times a season to get the you-know-what out of it. Slow draining promotes bottom dwelling .... that would be hard to remove after a few years.
You need the full 3in capacity to do this, and a lot of water in the tank.

how is it that the mascerator's output doesn't just go right up the grey water drain line and into the grey tank? Is there a back-flow preventer in the line, or something?
got any specs on the solar stuff? is that just a single panel? maybe a web link to the "system"....?

The pump has a built in backflow stop - if it doesn't stop everything I will put in an extra... That's a good question though, when I was testing it with water I forgot to hook up the toilet and the macerator pushed some water out that line, I couldn't figure out what the splashing sound was (I was below deck).
