For security, we use a Verizon MiFi (a.k.a., Jet Pack) instead of free WiFi. Below are links to descriptions of our setup, which is kind of a kluge; but it works well for us:

Almost there with this mod. Assuming I go with the 4G-X and Sure Call Omni antenna I am hoping to mount the 4G-X box in my cabinet above the table where the DVD player is and use a Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE as a hotspot. With this setup and location of the equipment should I get good cell and wifi throughout the 23D?

Depends on where you place the 'indoor' antenna.

I typically place them in the dinette/lounge area; sometimes on the ceiling and sometimes on the wall. Line-of-sight is best for the 'candy bar' indoor antenna provided. Some folks have opted for a 360º ceiling mount unit, which works better but is not included in the kit.

The ceiling mount is nice but more complexity. I will check with my dealer to see what they have done in the past.

I'm looking to do a similar install in my 25' Eddie Bauer.
If you only need the cell coverage for data (not phone calls), can't you just slap a hotspot on the internal antenna and not worry about inside/outside range?
BoldAdventure, did you setup that internal antenna so you can make phone calls?

Sounds like Airstream Adventures did the install so I should be able to get Bay Area Adventures to hook up with them.

Matt.
WeBoost devices have two antennas. One External and One internal. I don't think there are any data lonely boosters. As to 'slapping on a hotspot' maybe you can elaborate on your question. Not sure what you mean.

This is exactly what I have done. I have a Verizon MiFI, which has two antenna ports. I connect the output side of the Weboost to an antenna splitter, which then connects to the MiFi. I make all voice calls over Skype anyway so this works out perfectly for me. I keep the MiFi velcro'd to a wall inside the pantry where the weboost is also at. Works great for my needs!

Do you still have the Weboost internal antenna along with the Mifi connected to the splitter? If so what cabling/connectors are needed?

The 3G store recommended:weBoost RV 4G 60db 5-Band Repeater Kit - 470201 [700/800/1900/1700/2100mhz]
if only using parked since this one has much better inside coverage. Will still be using the Sure Call Omni antenna. Am I missing something?

Just going to leave this here: http://www.air802.com/antenna-cable-...lent/?ctid2=20
Better cable, custom ends no connectors like that over priced trash from 3G store. good service, fast shipping.
If it where me, I would ignore 3GStore's advice and buy the Drive. Second the Surecall is for the external antenna, not internal. It's a better antenna then the small magnet that comes with it. If you're just parked in town though, the small one should suffice. If you're like us, out in the boonies, the Surecall is worth the investment.

Also saw this one: weBoost Drive 4G-X + RV Trucker Essentials Kit | 470510-RV on the Wilson site. Starting to get pretty confusing...

Cactus you may save money not buying the 3G kit. The kit you mention has an outdoor directional antenna. If you don't plan to use a directional AND really want to install the SureCell then you don't need it and probably can make your own bundle.

Gary,
I was just asking if the reason that people are discussing the internal antenna strength is because they want to make actual telephone calls. If you don't care about that and only want cell coverage to use the internet, then you would just put a mifi right next to the candy bar and get all the range you need via wifi. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious.
Matt
