Using one of those with the regular omnidirectional antenna that came with the weBoost RV (and without the booster or the internal antenna) I am getting 9-12 db gain and about 10 time the down/upload speed
I figure the booster is only needed to drive the signal to the internal antenna and that will be necessary for any device that doesn't have an antenna plug such as a cell phone.

Your right, I could use that to connect directly to the jetpack but then I couldn't use the amplifier.

Correct, no need for the amplifier or the internal antenna. Also no need for the power supply or trying to figure out where to tap the 12v.

Another solution that worked well was to hoist the jetpack on a long pole. This way the jetpack was receiving a stronger signal. I was still able to connect to the hotspot that it creates while I was sitting inside. In this case, the only thing you need is a long pole and a way to attach the jetpack to it. This might also work with a cell phone as a hotspot, but it will be difficult to take calls-
I had to take it down every so often to recharge.
To protect the jetpack from the elements, I taped the it inside an empty water jug (after cutting off the top) and placed that upside-down at the top of the pole.

Does the External Antenna Type Make Much Difference?
I currently have the weboost 4G-X and it came with a little magnetic type of antenna, I see on their website they have lots of external vehicle antennas to choose from. They range from $15.00 to $200.00 which one is the best for an AS? Does it make much difference? Does the 75 ohm work better than the 50 ohm?

For a permanent mount I would chose an omni directional antenna, so I don't need to aim it. A yagi antenna will have a higher gain, but only in the one direction it is pointing at. So it needs to be fiddle with all the time.
As far as impedance. You want to match your device. If it is 50 ohm than you want a 50 ohm antenna. You will lose 3db (1/2 the energy) if you connect the 50 ohm antenna to a 75 ohm input device.

I find I set my directional antenna once and it’s fine for the duration of our stay. That extra gain is sometimes worth it.

Weboost 12v fused power supply
It has pos and neg wire ends so how do I connect to my 12v supply. No 12v plugs in my AS. Could connect to fuse box but Weboost controller is at opposite end under dinning table, too far. Many USB ports but how do I convert those

There is 12v going to the back of all of your USB chargers if that helps. There’s also 12v behind the fridge, behind the radio, behind the reading lights, to the heater, etc. Just be sure to use the inline fuse holder that came with it.

Wanted to install cig lighter and UBS combo outlet where OEM UBS plate is. The combos need 12 v to each. Just splice leads so I can hook up both?

Weboost 4G-X Drive RV Antenna Install Placement
Just mind the proper polarity. Check the wiring to be sure you get positive to positive, negative to negative wires.

True, some genus in a bygone era decided that RV 12v systems should use black and white wires where black is positive (!) in some places and red/black in others where black is negative like god intended. I guess they were taking a cue from the way home AC circuits are color coded with black as hot.
Anyway that confusion has caused many a blown up component over the years.
