USB port access

I have a 2018 16’ Bambi Sport. The USB Port above the radio unit in the front roof locker is not charging. I tried to access the USB port for checking the connection or fuse by unscrewing the six screws from the front wood panel. But the panel won’t come loose.
(part# 6, stock# 967498-086 in the parts book).
Any tips much appreciated!

Some of these USB ports are not wired to charge just to play usb devises. You can check the power level with a volt meter to see if you are getting any power. Also check your breakers for a fuse or breaker for the USB outlet.

I have a 2011 Sport 22. My cabinet is a little different and while I do not have a USB port, I do have an old-fashioned cigarette lighter port. It is 12v and always active. Also, the Sports are purported to have an additional 12v line that is unused within the cabinet. Many folks run auxiliary lights. Take this information for what it is...may or may not apply. I can't be more helpful on the cabinet.

IF the USB port is not charging, it may be plugged into the DVD/radio.
So you would need to power up that device to see power on the USB.

You can access the USB internals by removing the stereo deck. There should be a little metal bit (looks like a wire) that came in your documentation kit. You can release the locks on the deck and slide it out.

I pulled mine out to cut the power and to disconnect the USB to the HDMI adapter that is behind the stereo. I wanted to eliminate the power draws from all that stuff. I don't use the stereo at all so no need for it to draw power.
