Solar panels on bambi 19'

I've seen pictures of this model using two 50 watt panels. I was wondering if I went with a little larger panel that would creep out a few inches onto the unpainted portion of the roof to mount, would that be wise? I don't care to move the TV antenna.

I have a 16' Sport, I figure I can get three 80 watt panels on the roof. I went with the Renogy panel because of dimensions, the 80 watt panel is only 36 inches long and I have 80 inches of roof (so panel and feet will fit). Take a second look with the tape measure up on the roof and then shop around for panel size, I bet you can get more. Good Luck Also, check out GMFL's blog on solar or the solar show and tell thread too.

Thanks Rick,
Yes he should be able to get 3 of these https://www.renogy.com/80-watt-12-vo...e-solar-panel/ On the roof

I’ve always been intrigued by using a panel as a back window awning

Zamp is expensive but they make skinny 90s and 45s which are the same width but half as long. You can mix them to make a good fit. I have 2 45s and a 90 on my 16.
Make sure you leave room to walk on the roof or have a way to easily remove some or all of the panels.

Do you have a picture of your install? I’ve measured the roof space on my Flying Cloud 19 and from that it looks like 2 Zamp 90L panels will fit but not much else as far as I can tell.

I have a 2018 Bambi sport 16. I bought it used but it came with 2 90 watt Zamp panels. They hang over just a bit on the silver portion of the roof. One on each side in front of the AC.
If you can get 3 panels go for it. Solar is the best option for a trailer, in my opinion.
GMFL seems to have good info, follow his lead

Do you have pictures showing the placement of these panels?

It looks like that antenna and possibly the AC is casting shadows on the panels. You'd be best the avoid any shading from these.

Nice install, could you put more on the opposite side if you wanted? On my 16 Bambi, I have one on each side which helps if I am parked in partial shade. Thanks for the pics.

Your pictures confirm my measurements. For aesthetic reasons I was wanting to avoid the overhang on the front and back of the curb side. That’s why I assessed a max of one 90L on each side. I’ll maybe reconsider this approach as your install looks quite nice.

With this model there is very limited space on the roof for solar. I’ve measured mine in detail and unfortunately, for this model compromises are required.

Thanks, interesting thread. Adding solar is a mod I'm researching for the coming year on our 2008 19' Bambi SE.
