I hope you've already solved your problem, if not here's a couple of suggestions. Bear in mind I do not have the SeeLevel System yet.
I'm going to be facing similar problems in the very near future. I'm getting ready to order the SeeLevel II tank monitors. I'm planning to call Garnet Instruments Ltd.,(USA 877-668-7813, Canada 800-617-7384) makers of the SeeLevel II with some questions. One of them was going to be if I can just do a direct connection to my battery to test them. I've got a couple of deep cycle
12V batteries from before the remodel and I've kept them charged up. If you don't have a 12V battery you might be able to wire 8, 1.5V dry cell batteries in series and get what you need for a short test.
