Satellite TV Cable Missing

I have a 2020 33 Classic and have discovered that Airstream failed to either run the cable up the wall of forgot to install it all together. Has anyone else had this issue?

I believe it runs through the HDMI, and the cable is located behind the DVD player just my 2˘

It’s there, you gotta dig around and it’s normally labeled. I have read where some have been very short, but they finally found it.

If you're that short, I'd recommend getting something to stand on while searching.

Seriously, unless it was somebody's first day on the job and they forgot it, it should be there in the rat's nest that is the wiring in that area.

The satellite cable in my 2018 FC comes out from cutout next to DVD player. But to access it for the first time I had to remove the wooden case around the DVD player and reach through hole in the cabinet. It is there but not pulled through at the factory for some reason.

SAT cable can be behind the radio

Although the manual states that the cable will be found under the DVD player. That is not always the case.

In my 2016 International Signature I removed the DVD unit, removed the bottom railing of the sliding plexiglass doors to be able to remove the radio side panel (the one with the two 110V wall plugs) to get to the cabling behind the radio. I found the SAT coax cable (labelled SAT) in the nest of cables there.

The cable had two strips of electrical tape leading me to believe that the cable was taped to the rest of the DVD cable harness but broke off when they pulled the harness through the hole in the radio side panel to get to the DVD, resulting in the SAT cable remaining "invisible" behind the radio.

An alternative to removing the plywood panel between the DVD and the radio compartment is to slide the radio out to get to the SAT cable; a techician at Jackson Center showed me how this was done -- any shop that installs car radios can do this in a few seconds (or any car radio thief for that matter...!).

So if you don't find the SAT cable under the DVD player, don't despair, it's probably in the compartment behind the radio.

I had the same problem with my 2019 Classic. I went to Home Depot and purchased a cable tracer. Puts a tone on the cable from outside. Traced it to the middle of the wall below the DVD player. Had to take it to the dealer to take love seat out, remove wall cover, and continue wire up the wall to the DVD player. Sad.

Not possible because the coax outside the coach is not an HDMI.

Thanks. I have taken my AS to two different dealers and they have all called JC to be to told the cable is marked but may have fallen down behind the wall. For the life of me why wouldn’t AS run the cable and install it into a connection jack plate and call it good With the cable tv coax antenna amplifier jack plate. Thanks for your reply.

+ on recommendations from dog house. Get a cable tracer and you will be able to find it. Dave

The model is irrelevant. If your cable is in there, as others have suggested, go get a cable tracer and you will locate it. Fairly simple.

It should be there

I have a 2018 Intl 27 and believe me that cable was hard to find. Be patient and reach all around in the opening behind Dvd player and you will find it. Just another A/S mystery why they make it so hard.!!!!!!

I found it!!!

We have purchased a new Classic 33 FBT. After almost giving up, i found the satellite connection tonight. I have already purchased a line tracer and diplexers if i could not find the cable. i was going to do the old fashion way.

Why not put in a box easy to find.

It is there, but it is behind the the shade wall in a Classic.

Crazy!

I visited Airstream Adventures in Oregon and they found the cable on the floor behind the wall behind the couch. What type of satellite dish are you using? I am using a Wingard G3 Carryout. I used it once on my old trailer with no problems. On my AS I dont seem to be getting a signal from the sat dish. After you found your cable did you have to make any other connections or disconnections in order for your system to function?

I am using a KING KOP4800 One Pro Premium Satellite TV Antenna and Wally receiver.

Once I found the cable, it was easy. I put an HDMI switch in and I am distributing satellite sign to the bedroom.
