Removing tv antenna

On our latest trip, I apparently ate too many Wheaties for breakfast and when pulling down on the antenna control inside the trailer, pulled it apart. After some research, decided to upgrade the old Winegard antenna rather than attempt to repair the broken plastic part.
Instructions for the new antenna are straightforward but the problem is getting the old antenna off the roof. Scraped away the sealer, removed the antenna, the screws and the interior ceiling plate but the old mounting plate is not budging. I've reviewed the manuals and installation instructions and none mention any kind of interior locking nut or other device, but something is holding this sucker on. Anyone have any experience with this?

Welcome Aboard!! 👍

When the DW is not looking...gently warm the goop with her hair dryer. 😂👍😳 and insert thin putty knife, work it slowly. 🙄

BTW..love the avatar.

Did that, goop is gone. Can lift the plate on all edges. Even slid a thin piece of metal under it to make sure all the goop was gone underneath. Something is holding it in the center. Do you think it might be ginormous gripping goop?

Thanks on the avatar. Ike the red border collie has left us now. Miss him.
