Refrigerator exhaust fan issue

Our exhaust fan for our Dometic refrigerator quit working and the indicator light on the switch went out. I bypassed the thermostat on the fan and still no luck. The interesting thing is I checked the voltage going to the fan and it indicated only 1.4v in lieu of the required 12v. Any idea where the issue is?? I noticed that the supply power for the fan appears to go through the switch. No issues with any of the remainder of the 12v system. Could the actual switch be bad and is somehow limiting voltage? Thanks in advance for any ideas!!

I’ll take a shot at this. Is there a thermistor on the circuit that. supplies power to the fan? The thermistor would turn the fan off if the fridge was cool enough not to need the fan. If the temperature increases, the thermistor senses the higher temperature and then it allows voltage to flow to the fan.
To test this theory, supply 12 volts directly to the fan. If the fun runs, then the trouble is in the wiring that supplies voltage to the fan. If the fan is controlled by some sort of temperature sensing device, I suspect that it is no longer working and it not allowing 12 volts to be supplied to the fan.

Cheers,

John
