PSA: 7 pin connector cover I found via FB

I have the metal trailer caddy and the 7 pin cover left a lot to be desired...so I ditched it because it was nearly impossible to put on the connector it was so tight.........with the added bonus of it let water in......lovely.

So being a FB user (yeah I groaned too), I'm part of multiple RV groups not just Airstream. Someone posted a 7 pin cover that had promise...it is very cost effective from amazon (yeah, but it was cheap), so I gambled and bought it....well it arrived and I have to say.....it is pretty nice. It fits my 2019 7 pin connector snuggly and very easy to put over the connector......I also did a full wash of the trailer with it on.......zero water inside the connector. As a side note, instead of letting the connector face down, it now faces up since the cover has a long surface area....so now it points to the sky for added assurance that no water can get into the connector.

When connected to the TV, there is a snap mechanism that allows it to bind to the wire so it doesn't flop around....very cool!

There is one FULL DISCLOSURE: The retainer link to attach it the 7 pin wire to prevent losing it was EXTREMELY difficult to get "over" the 7 pin connector.....I had to use a lot of strength and small rigid screwdriver to get to "stretch" over the connector....it is not a soft rubber, more of a "stretchable plastic"...it did feel like I was going to break it...but it didn't happen and there are no plastic "stretch marks" showing any stress from getting it over the connector.....but it is doable with some patience and perseverance.

I found the connector here:

Hopefully you find this post/product useful and disclaimer, I have no stake in the product....just something I found on a FB group that looked to be a nice add on. YMMV.

Chris
