Portable Printers

Using a MacBook Pro while traveling, but now on an extended trip I need a printer. Small, easily stowed, even single sheet feed, wifi not a requirement. There seem to be lots on line, but wondering if any of you on the forums have suggestions.

Portable Printers

Don't recall model number but the small portable HP and the Canon both work good. They are inkjet printers. I wish I could find a small one that was a laser. I have owned both HP and Canon portable travel size.

Ron
PS I also have a MacBook Pro.

We use a smallish HP 1010. Nothing fancy but prints what we need! It's not exceptional at printing photos but good for text and coupons. It's fairly compact, the sheet and doc trays fold up.... It's lightweight. Only 2 ink cartridges . Less than $50

I have always used small Epson Stylus inkjet printers on construction sites because they are durable, and especially because they use separate color cartridges and dual black cartridges. The HP line usually puts all the color in one cartridge, which typically (IMO) runs out of one color before the others, forcing the purchase of a new color cartridge which still has plenty of ink left for the other two colors.

Here is one possible Epson, but I would want to do more research before buying it. Kind of large and bulky IMO. Seems to me I have seen more compact printers for On The Road Again.

We use an HP 4500 series printer in the Airstream full time. It is mounted in the overhead cabinet above the dinette. We use it every day. It is also a copier and a scanner.

Good to have those two additional functions. The better Canon machines also have separate color cartridges, I believe, along with copy and scan functions. TBD

We use an Epson XP420..Not too big. Scans as well as prints. Sometimes it's nice to be able to scan. Works on our WIFI network from laptop or iPhones. Amazon has them for $49.99.

Many thanks, all. Think I'm going to go with the Epson XP-420. The single color cartridge on the HP's is a problem. Also like wireless even though I didn't list that originally. Will let you know how this plays out

We have the Epson. If you don't use it frequently you'll find yourself unable to print and changing the cartridges. If you aren't camping, take it home and use it to keep the ink flowing and the print heads from clogging.

Other than this issue it is a very reliable printer. It has performed consistently well despite what must be a rough ride in the Airstream. Plus the cost to buy the printer was low.

We use the Epson WF100. We also carry a small Epson Scanner. They both do the job. The WF100 is wireless and will print from our laptops, Ipad, Adroid Pad and phones. It is purported to be "the worlds smallest mobile printer".

Yes, you must not let the Epson go unused.

I finally got to take a picture of my HP 4500 installed in one of the overhead cabinets in Lucy. It is powered from the other cabinet where the Blue Ray player is located.

Since we run an internet business from the road when traveling, we need the print/scan/copy functions on a regular basis. When Lucy is between trips, we leave the HP installed, and have never had any problems with the ink drying up.

just bought the HP 100 mobile printer. I really like the size and the bluetooth connectivity, but also the battery. I am using it without plugging it in.
Don't know how long the cartridges will last but I typically print with only black ink so I don't use the color much.
It was on sale at Best Buy but not sure about that now.
