Mystery wires
Started to deconstruct my 69 Tradewind. These wires were hanging behind the fridge and never connected....any help or clue what they are for would be much appreciated.
Just want to make sure I label them correctly when I get further into the project.

Hi
On anything that's been around since 1969 the phrase "trust but verify" comes to mind. Over the years, people may have re-used "spare" wires for various odd things ... How likely that is depends a lot on the history of the trailer you have.

That's true uncle bob. In the long run I plan on fully rewiring my AS. I bought it off of the Second owner who had the camper sit for 10 years. Due to a work injury he was never able to do the rehab project originally planned on...

Hi
If you will be doing a lot of wiring, get a line tracer if you don't already have one. You clip a "transmitter" to the leads you can see and use the "receiver" to figure out where they go. There are a lot of them on the market. I've never seen one that did not work pretty well. Most of them track a tone with a speaker.

Usually easy to find the other end of wires, especially during a renovation. Ensure battery and 120v power is disconnected. Look for similar color wires both in the 120v panelboard and the 12v distribution panel. jump two wires together that you want to trace and using a volt meter (set to continuity tone), start probing. You may need to disconnect the head end of the wires first. I was easily able to label all my wires at the head end using this method.
Having fours wires suggest two separate circuits...maybe for a 3-way fridge. 120v (black and white) and 12v (red and green)???

This just dawned on me...Could it be that these wires are for a air conditioning roof unit?
Did the factory pre wire these trailers even if they didn't come with a a/c?

What AWG number is stamped on the wiring, and is it stranded wire or solid copper? From the curve it looks stranded IMO.
Is this count correct?
1 red
1 green
2 grey
Hard to make out without better photos.

Hi
If those are factory power and control wires, that's a really odd color code and the control wires are really fat. My guess would be they are not for HVAC.
