kitchen light switch at front door Q's

Hey guys first time posting here. I am replacing my switches next to the front door with more modern white switches from vintage trailer supply. I was wondering if anyone know why the kitchen light switch has a power in (black) and two powers outs (red) ?

I bought a two prong replacement switch and just hooked up the black and the red that made the light function. So what does the other red wire do?

Thanks everyone.

My 75 TW had a 3 way setup for the galley light with the other switch being on the light fixture. Flipping either switch would change the status of the light.

Thank you @azflycaster! ahhhh it is a three way switch. I had replaced the galley light months before and had wire nutted the xtra red wire there and had forgotten about it. It all makes sense now.
