Cable does not work

I bought a 2014 International Signature. When I attach the cable to outside connector I do not get a signal. When I run the cable inside directly to the TV I get a signal. Any ideas? Thanks.

There is a pushbutton on an antenna connector plate somewhere in your trailer. It may be at your TV, or somewhere else. For antenna the pushbutton must be in and the green LED on. For cable the pushbutton out and the green LED off. You will also have to scan for channels each time you change from one to the other.

On the newer trailers like yours there is also a connector plate for satellite connection. For cable operation without satellite the two connectors on that plate must have a jumper cable between them.

Make sure ant booster is off. Mine has a green light when on.

cable

Check to make sure the amplifier thingy is not turned on. It is located behind the tv, not the easiest to get to. There is a small light that comes on when it is on. This is used when the antennae is all you are using.

Hi,

My husband and I just had this same problem. We were at a KOA and they offered cable, so we purchased the wire and hooked up. Nothing! Called the TV company, who couldn't help. Finally, Facebook Airstream Adventures came up with the solution. I'm passing it on to you.

We have the same year and model that you have. Behind the flat screen in the main part of the cabinet, you'll see the plug that can't be used for anything... Above that and behind the set, there is a white place cover with a small button. I couldn't see it well because of the location. Just push that once to turn the cable on. Of course, you have to program your channels on the remote for cable. Once you've done that, you should be good to go. I never saw any light, just felt the plate and found the button to push.

Be sure you push that button again once you're on the road. I forgot what would happen, but I know I didn't want to leave it engaged. It was great having cable!! I hope this is standard in each unit of the same model and year.

Good luck!

Andi

No cable reception

Could there be another issue? I have a 2012 FC, can get no cable reception inside . I replaced the exterior cable, hooked it up to the cg owner's portable tv; he got perfect reception on his tv, but when he hooked the cable to my exterior connector, nada. (We did the antenna button thing, by the way.) so, could my exterior connection port be the problem? I see no corrosion.
Thanks

And another thing within this subject. When using the TV antenna with the booster on reception is great. If a channel is on the air we can see it. With the booster off and on cable the front TV occasionally turns itself off. (Eh!) The rear TV works fine throughout.

Next time I'm in the trailer I'll follow Andi's suggestion look for a button on the back of the front TV. With this intermittent problem I suspect this is yet a different cause.

Any ideas out there? OK. How 'bout solutions?

Cable TV not working

We just upgraded from our 2017 Flying Cloud 26U to a 2019 Classic 30 RBT. Used our new Airstream twice second time we had cable connection at the campground hooked up pushed the antenna off, but no reception. Tried programming no stations found and Weak signal with snow is all we got. Campground checked all the lines and connections to our site there was a strong signal, but none were received through the internal connections. When we ran the cable directly from the outside pedestal connection we had a great picture. Any thoughts or knowledge of what might be the problem?

Sounds like a wire is not connected either to the cable inlet on the side of the trailer or where ever The splitter is located in your unit. Most likely behind the Blu-ray player.

I have a plate with a "cable" and a "sat". It's hard to read, on mine the cable is the left input.
However. I don't need a jumper of any kind.
1. Plug in cable. (Outside)
2. Turn OFF antenna booster.
3. Run "channel scan" for cable.

Just a quick follow up. We started checking connections for the cable/satellite from the outside, low and behold the outside connection was never connected to any cables. The plate still had the rubber plugs on the cable connection ends. There was a cable in the wall that wasn’t connected to anything.

We found where all the wiring is for the 2019 Classic it’s under the dinette seat. All the wires were labeled nicely, but connected to nothing. So we solved our problem, but very disappointed in quality control at Airstream.

So now all wires are connected next step is to find a cable connection to make final check. Again, thank you for your help.

Angry No Cable connection in Front Samsung TV

Front TV, with Wineguard TV power booster ON for King antenna, pulls in about 6-9 DTV channels. With Wineguard TV power booster OFF, no cable channels are recognized.

Rear TV works perfect for Air antenna and cable.

Today I pulled out the Wineguard TV power booster plate/outlet to check all connections to Air and Cable connections. They were ALL loose one to two threads/turns. Snug tightened all.

I also ordered the King TV power booster plate/outlet. I'll replace the Wineguard power booster with the King.

Updates later.

Thumbs up King Fix

Installed the King TV antenna/cable switch as a replacement to Winegard unit. Clean install. Easy to determine connections. Cable connection clearly illustrated. Note: King labels it as a "power injector" versus a "power booster". Tried Air antenna. Before install, Air antenna would bring in 7-9 channels. After install, 19 channels. Some as far as 50-70 miles away.

Have not been able to check cable scan yet but I'm confident I'll get cable now.

King's terminology is correct. The circuitry behind the switch plate switches from antenna to cable TV and sends power up the coax to a preamp in the antenna head. Properly powered, the preamp in the antenna head determines how well the antenna performs. If your reception is better with the King switch plate one of two things is probably true: 1. your original power inserter was bad or conditions for reception changed between the two tests. Just my opinion.....

Al,

Thanks for input. Prior to this change out to King switch, we traveled from Central Florida to Vermont and back. Stopped at eight different highly rated campgrounds some with cable and AIR and some only cable. As stated before, the rear TV worked flawlessly for AIR and cable reception. Front TV never received cable at same sites and very limited channels on AIR.

My thoughts on contributing factors:
a. Loose cable connections at the switch plate.
b. Wineguard circuit board fault issue between Antenna and Cable connection to Front TV.
c. Better power from King to antenna amplifier.
d. Wineguard circuit board fault issue between Antenna and Cable connection to Front TV corrected with new King circuit board.

The $28 I spent on King switch plate was worth my expense and time to install.

Sorry, I guess I missed the part about the rear TV working. You were probably going to have to change it to get it to work. Did you get the king version with the signal strength indicator?

No. Green light only.

Your thoughts on why rear TV worked flawlessly?
