Back up camera waterproof cover?
Just got back from JC, my 2019 is on its 3rd....that's right....3rd backup camera....even management knows the camera has a design issue, yet they keep on replacing it. Until I build my dually, I can't switch to something else.
So my thought is, for now, to keep the camera covered from the elements as it is stored outside. I have a plastic zip lock bag temporarily covering it and ensured that is doesn't rub the shell...
Anyone have a recommendation on a waterproof cover to keep the elements out while parked?
Thanks.

Wow that stinks, sorry to hear.
For a cover, perhaps a cheap tarp at Harbor Freight, cut to an appropriate size, bungeed in place?

Is it due to fogging?
Post #68 of this thread is the fix (believe it or not!)

Thx!

Yeah, that was an off brand amazon camera. I had two of them...both fogged. Sealing these things is at best a challenge. I used that one for several years with the pin holes before GM came out with a retrofit kit for my in-dash screen.
It never fogged up after the pin holes were added.

I didn't cut anything. There is a zipcord you can tighten around the base to prevent it from flying away. It is a simple and effective solution. Has been working for me.

I bought the same item, nice feel, easy to put on...piece of mind for now until I can sort out how to deal with a water loving camera.
TY!
