Battery operated handheld. Works great on trips and when we get home we use the household vac for extra deep cleanup.

Small canister vac similar to this one. We don't want to take up too much storage room. We rely heavily on the old broom and dustpan.

I use, and love, my Dyson Animal Hand Vac. Does a great job picking up pine needles & hound dog fur off our wood floors...and perfect for vacuuming our three round Ikea area rugs

We don't use our corded 12v handheld anymore, we simply sweep and swiff. Oh, and take the cushions outside occasionally and beat them.

Buy a used kirby
without the powerdrive, remove the bag and the handle, install the hose and splice longer hose to this one, install exhaust hose to exhaust of kirby motor vent thru floor and out the side of belly pan. Since you are only picking up fine dust and lint it goes thru kirby motor no bag to clog and mess with of course only recommended for smooth floors since you would have no power head. Just an idea.

We just got a Shark VX63 2 in 1 stick vac. Battery operated and light weight it has the removable dust buster. Also has the beater bar brush and works great on low pile carpet and linoleum too! I have to admit that part of the reason we got it was our "shark theme" but it has a extendable/collapsible handle and stores just fine in the bathroom closet. We got it for a great price $24.99 on the 1-day deals site of eBay. Happy Trails, Ed

This is a fantastic vacuum. It's very tiny, easy to use and has amazingly great power. It stores anywhere. I bought it based on the great reviews it had on Amazon and I couldn't be happier with it. Cleans carpet, linoleum, upholstery with ease. The small dirt holder is easy to remove and dump.

We have a Dyson handheld for "small jobs" and when we're off the grid, and also have a Shark "Vac then Steam", which is a nicely small stick vacuum that also steams. I love being able to get the floor clean and sterilized with the steamer. It does a fast and complete job.

Not much floor in a 19' Bambi ... a vacuum would be another thing we don't need. So we use a broom with a 3' handle and a dust pan ... and shake out the rugs. If it's particularly dusty we'll do a quick set-wipe. I scrub the floors between trips...so it's all fresh when we leave for the net one.

We took a little Dyson hand vac. along on a few trips but seem never to use it so it just takes up space. A small broom and dustpan seems to do us just fine.

We're with you guys -- we are full-timing in a 25 (vinyl seamless floor throughout) and don't need a vacuum for floors. Handy on some of the upholstery. We take all removable upholstery outside and beat the crud out of it. Otherwise we enjoy use of a dustpan and a nested folding broom. Have a swiffer mop but tend to get bucket of light suds and a sponge to do thorough or spot mopping.

Ditto on the Shark VX63. Perfect trailer size, rechargeable battery, lots of suction. Battery lasts about 15 minutes in beater mode, slightly longer in bare floor mode. No bags, but the dirt container and filter need to cleaned often...especially if you have pets. We had an Electrolux battery stick vac before this one and the Shark is much better...and cheaper. It breaks down for easy storage in the AS too.

Now that my evil carpet is gone, I'm part of the Swiffer crowd. But since I have several Ryobi LI paks, I still keep Home Depot's Ryobi 18V One+ dry hand vac on board for big messes or when I'm just lazy. One powerful little sucker for the size. Not too bad on carpet either.
Also pack the One+ drill, the compressor (yes, it will fill the trailer tires and pressurize my water tank) and a couple of 18V One+ fans for the dog. Chargers in both truck and trailer so I've always got fresh battery paks around.

Extra batteries are now available for these and the ones w/o the extension (DC31???)
Got my extra battery about 2 months ago.
Everything about Dyson is pricey, but I love these. Tons of suction.
