Recycling

Hi, I’ve been full-timing for 2.5 months so far (just getting started) and wondered how you handle recycling—plastic, cardboard, aluminum, etc. I’ve been saving it & putting it in my boyfriend’s recycling bin at his home but I can see how it would build up if I were gone for a while. I know some rest areas have recycling but I often see it’s for aluminum only & not plastic. Suggestions (other than trying to reduce single-use, which I am doing)?

Unfortunately this is a regional thing. Some places are better than others. We use a reusable trash bag to hold recycles and just empty when we come across the opportunity. If we fill and can’t find anywhere then it just gets trashed unfortunately.

It’s much easier to recycle when you’re close to a city center.

Here is the bag we use. Love it. Also able to seal it and prevent any smells or at least minimize.

Thanks for the tip about the bag! It’s just one of those things I’ll have to work out as I go, I suspect. Unfortunately, recyclables take up space, which as we all know, is at a premium.
