How does one remove the seats and everything? I talked to RV Armor too, and am currently listening to the Living the Dream podcast on the subject. I am not familiar how the roof is constructed but I imagined the fixtures were permanently attached.
Eternabond is 4" tape, I was just going to clean around all the perforations and tape it down. The RV Armor guy quoted $4K, but I am sure it would be more. He says all the fixtures need to be removed, and those 28 foot long Skyliners would be VERY difficult to remove. I am tempted to remove the fiberglass just to see what's under there.

The only diamond plate I see on the Jeff Gordon's SkyDeck site are on the bus wrap image and on the bed of the truck moving the RV:
What are you looking at? I didn't see any pics at the roof level.
I am curious what those aluminum 2x4"s are with the plastic hooks on the end laying directly on the bed. I would also LOVE to know how all this stuff was attached to the roof of the RV. And why is the safety rail SO MUCH longer than mine?

Randy,
After reviewing your rig there is way too much on top of that roof for us to be able to provide a warranty. As much as we would like to tackle a project like this, my belief is the cost would be too much to make it worth it for you.

Back to the eternabond idea, although in this last rain the ONLY leak I could find was around the roof hatch. I think I am gonna just put a cover over it or some adhesive plastic molding to cover the actual opening when the hatch is down. At least until I can get the exact seals re-done.

You are correct- that looks like the truck bed- It didnt register that the radio and rails etc were removed from the top... but i still like the idea of the rubber diamond plate look....

Yes I got the same answer from the founder of RV Armor which I met in Bradenton FL.
A good shop should be able to remove everything on the roof and reinstall it after it is covered. A big project for sure but I think it would be worth it. There business model does not allow for it.
I think I have some leaks on the outside wall right next to the stairwell and this cannot be reached without removing the side extension and I am sure you cannot reach it either without removing it. Between the stairwell cover box and the roof edge you cannot even reach in.

Another entry
Just came across https://www.facebook.com/Troublemaker/photos_stream
It's another red SkyDeck like mine, I think that makes 4, unless one of us is driving the one used for promo photos.
They posted photos of their WineTap equipped SkyDeck from Sept. 2013 to May 2014. I wonder who ended up buying it. No photos of the back of the RV so it probably is a bunk based model, not the single queen I have. No idea how to get the VIN.

ps. Oops I guess I have seen this before:
pps. OK, I guess I have seen this one before and it's one of the 3 I had previously identified: http://usedrvforsale.blogspot.com/20...or-nascar.html
They just pealed off the branding but there is still a visible logo in the kitchen

we are in the market for a new floor as well- carpet is 10 years old etc. I would be interested in seeing what you installed and the cost etc. How did you choose them to do the install?
Were you happy with the results?
can we do private messages here? i would like to exchange contact info with all skydeck owners on this forum as a start.

Alan I am sorry I missed this or my old brain just lost it.
I had my floor done at Creative Mobile Interiors in Grove City OH.
They are the company who did the last A class Airstream interior the A37 and A39.
It cost just about $10k. I like it even so I had some detail issues but in general I am happy with it. I had Airstream and other companies quote on it and they where $2k to $5k higher. Plus they left the best impression about there professionalism and even did much better then Airstream in Jackson Center.
They also replaced the vertical carver area and did it the vinyl also under the coach.
Contact me anytime if you want more info.
Thanks
Peter

Not sure how this is not in this thread, so I will add it here. I got a bug up my butt and contacted Airstream asking just how many Sky Decks there were:
Quote:
Good Afternoon,
Here is a list of the number of Sky Decks’ we built over the years. We made 27 in all.
2003 – 8
2004 – 6
2005 – 5
2006- 8

Somehow this is shocking. Gonna have to start a numbering scheme with the photos I keep. If as pointed out:

So my 2005 may be the ONLY residential and all the later units were hospitality units. No wait, Peter's is also a 2005...
Gonna keep looking for the owners of these units for more info about the year and possibly the VIN. With only 27 units to organize it should be pretty easy.

OK, as I posted elsewhere I spent the weekend, and am actually still at it, finding ALL the internet photos of SkyDecks and linking them with Pinterest ( https://www.pinterest.com/israndy/airstream-sky-decks/). I am also organizing them and adding VINs to my Photos App when I find them.
Alan, I think your photo of the Skydeck family may be VERY inclusive. I have seen Coors, Miller, several wraps on grey, and some random others, and those may ALL be in your photo from South Carolina where Hollywood Productions is located. They even have a similar photo of their lot, thought not so centered on ALL Airstreams.
And then I run out of storage space on this site and cannot upload more pics (well, getting close)

Still organizing Sky Decks. Was looking at the Gunnar Facebook page and other searches. Found no stills of the inside on their site, but there were a few videos of the inside. Had to look elsewhere and found including this funny video:
But don't try this at home kids.

Another 2 located
We are at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend and there are 4 skydecks heres.
Big Blue
Trinity RV rental (Silver & black)
Two we havent seen before-
Another Silver and black with bunk beds etc. Purchased about 4 yrs ago from somewhere in Kentucky and now owned by a couple in Amarillo Texas. 50K mile on it.
Red and silver bunk bed unit with Calif plates but rented from Woody Rv Rentals LLC out of texas. ( www.woodyrvrentals.com) Supposedly belonged at one time to the Earnhardts. Its basically looks like a rental inside and on the roof- pretty rough shape.
Unfortunatley the Vin #s were not on the dash plate....

If you got some photos, please post. There are only 27 of us and there should be photos of them already posted to this thread that we can match.
