I have the original non-vented washer dryer unit in my Landyacht. Its never worked right and takes forever to dry towels or jeans. Removing it would give a large cabinet with power and drainage connections. When I was a fulltimer, plans were to install a small freezer and ice maker plus add more storage.
Curious to know if other owners have removed theirs and if so how was the space reused?
A new washer dryer combo thats vented would cost about $1200 with install. Not sure that adds much to the resale and I would still rather use a coin laundry to do everything in an hour vs all day.
I have the original Bekins washer/dryer combo in my 1996 34' Front Kitchen model as well. It's a tough call, though it might take a while to wash/dry some laundry, at least you can be doing something at the trailer while it's running vs. waiting at the laundry-mat where all you can do is sit and look at your phone.
I'll be keeping mine for now since I have plenty of storage and only buy so much food at a time anyway.
Our 1999 Land Yacht Diesel had one originally. Previous owner removed the unit and installed a shelf mid way up. My wife uses the space for large pots, coffee maker, paper towels, air fryer, etc.
Great storage space, and she would rather use the washing machines at the campground so she can do multiple loads at the same time.
