TV Upgrade Project

My Airstream came with a large heavy 19" tube TV and a VHS player mounted in the center cabinet at the front. I chose to replace it with a 24" flatscreen with built in DVD player where disc enter from the right side of the TV.

I removed the old TV and mounted a standard computer monitor articulating arm with a clamp base. Around the outer edges (not visible) is Velcro strips that hold it in place while traveling. Usually add a bungie cord for support when traveling on rough roads like the PA Turnpike!!

For greater sound effects, I added a 22" Bose center speaker/amp that sits directly under the TV. Excellent sound in a small package

Here are before/during/after pictures of the install. If anyone has questions, I have more detail photos that can be shared.

I havd have a LY 35xc diesel pusher 2000 model and i am looking at that same upgrade. My coach interior is being upgraded, new carpet, upholstery, and shades. How high does the TV go?
Wished it was mounted uptop.

I posted a few days ago asking the same question and got a few responses. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a 99 Cutter pusher with the same old TV and would like to upgrade to a flat screen HD TV. We have a big box the the old TV is mounted in and I was wondering if anyone took the box out and fabricated a mount using oak to match the rest of the coach. Would love to see what others have done.

New TV Mount

Mike,
Does the new 24" TV block the switch panel on the left and the A/C vent on the right? Also what are you going to do with the bedroom TV? (9", I think)
Paul (Decided to stay with the Land Yacht)

Sorry I have not checked this post in awhile.

Lford - I will message you direct about photos.

Paul - It does not block the vent on right side, but it can hide the switches on the left side. When traveling I use a bungie cord and Velcro strips so its positioned more to the left in travel mode. Have not done anything to the bedroom TV yet but may do something similar back there. Using a TV with built in DVD also makes a difference.

Just went through this too!

Recently found a gem of a 2001 30' Land Yacht. Both TV's were missing. Ugly hole in the dash. I purchased a piece of plywood, Cut it to overlapping size, Covered it with black padded vinyl with a hole at the bottom for a Blu ray player and used a thin wall mount to put a 24" smart TV up front. Still working on the back solution. Post when you get it figured out, might save me some time! Thanks!
