Does the dashboard indicator light light when you turn the directionals on? I ask this to test if the directional switch is getting power.

There are 2 fuses. The stop and hazard fuse and the turn signal. That may be why you hazards work but not the directionals.

I think you are on a Chevy chassis and if so check fuse 16. That should be the directional.

Sounds like the problem is in the switch for the 4 way hazard lights. Try flipping it on and off a few times and see if it works. The turn signals are wired thru the 4 way switch. It may be a case of dirty or corroded contacts in the 4 way switch.

I think Twinkie is right, I had a car with a similar problem, each spring when it came out of storage, I had to operate the switches a few hundred times to get them working. They were hard to find Lucas brand, hmmm?
