Retiring from the RV Life

As a member of this forum for 14 years, I'd like to say thanks to all who have helped me navigate the Airstream world. After 14 years in a 77 GMC 26' Eleganza III, then 14 years in our 94 Airstream 35' Land Yacht, health issues are having us try other forms of travel. These RV Forums are a great thing and we've been active in them for both motor homes. I hope I was able to help a few other Airstreamers along the way. I have entered a Classified Ad on this site in an attempt to find our "Roadhouse" a loving new home. Thanks again.
Paul

RVers never retire. They turn their RV into a tiny home in a gated RV Community.

From a very green newcomer to a experienced RV traveler, our upmost respects and very best wishes for your decision to find other adventures. I admire your RV. I heard rumors while on a factory tour that maybe the company will return to producing the big coaches.

Glad to hear that you both had a great time traveling in two RVs over a 28 year period. You will always have your wonderful memories. I hope you continue to travel and enjoy life.

Aging takes courage and changes things. Still able to travel with a trailer, though not as far and with more naps. I hope your future travels are a new way to enjoy life.

Tell me more about the unit, it looks fantastic. Would you recommend it to a total novice in the event arena?

Many thanks

Here's a link to the advertisement for the Land Yacht

http://www.airstreamclassifieds.com/...orth-carolina/

At this point it doesn't appear to be sold.

Yes Jack I would. The Airstream has been a real joy to own and travel with.
As with any RV, new or old, minor problems can be mostly avoid by avoided
by regular maintenance and a good eye towards upkeep.

Retirement update

We have about 10 inquiries but no sale. Went ahead and bought 4 new batteries (old ones working but aged out). Friends talked us into a couple of short RV trips to favorite places. Had so much fun we think we're going to keep it and make more travel plans. Just did 3 trips this year and have one more planned. We're now at 1020 nights in this coach and feel it has plenty of good travel left in it. Besides our 12 lb Chihuahua does not like hotels.

Maybe your nor retiring from the life

We had hoped to see your unit next week when we are visiting the Asheville area . Saw your message that you had changed your mind and wanted to travel again. If you get the itch to retire please let me know as we are interested, but not local to you.

Thanks

Was yours a diesel pusher? If so and your still on the forum, did you ever pull your generator out for any repairs. My starter is not always kicking in so I’m wondering if anyone has had to pull or drop in this case without having to remove exhaust line a bit to give clearances?
