Pulse Air A/C Switch

Our Airstream Land Yacht came equiped with the Power Guard Pulse-
Air Gen Switch Model A/C 1157. It allows both roof air units to be run
on 30 AMP Service by the switch alternating between front and rear
units. It works fine on pulse, but won't run the front only or both on
the Generator.

Our coach has the Onan 5500 LP Generator that should run both.

Problem: It will only run on pulse or rear only.
When we're on the highway, we want the front A/C only.
When we first get to a campground, we want front A/C only.
Occasionally we've had both on with the genrator, but when it pulses
it shuts the front off and alternates again.

Does anybody have and experience with this system and know how to
get it to behave? The directions that came with it say we're doing it right, but not getting good results.

Pulse A/C switch

Paul,

Where is this switch located. I have the same coach but apparently not the switch that I'm aware of. I can run both RTU's off the Onan.

Pulse Switch

Our switch is in a cabinet above the Kitchen Sink.
Is says it can run both A/C on the Onan, but reverts to Pulse
when "both is selected". Also reverts to Pulse when 'Front" is selected.
I've called the factory and emailed them. but have not heard yet.
Will post when I get a reply.

Pulse Air Switch

I finally go the Trans-Tech people in Plano Texas to provide an answer my problem. They are going to exchange my 12 year old unit for a new one that works properly. Not without cost, but at a fair price to both of us. Apparently these units are very durable, ours lasted 10 years and I look forward to using the new one at least that long.
Another Happy Ending to an Old Airstreams problem.
