Lighted Grab Handle

Just wanted to share a couple pics of a project just completed. I installed a couple T10 led lights to the grab handle by the door (one in the top, and one in the bottom), and a couple led strip lights to light up the step at the same time. Thought this was a good ideal. Instead of having the "patio" light on and shinning into the RV parked next to me in the evening while I was out. This way, the handle and step are lite when I return in the evening, and also the key hole is lighted. Not to hard to do. Just replace the "patio" switch inside the door with a SPDT switch. Reinstall the power wire to the middle terminal, the "patio" wire to the bottom terminal, and connect a new wire to the top terminal to the T10 led in the handle, and also one for the step led strip lite. Just make sure you connect all your grounds.

there is no part # for a lighted handle. this is a DIY mod. wasn't hard to do on my 2001 LandYatch. you will have to purchase two T10 LEDS and holders, a double pole, double throw, center off position switch. I bought a switch the same size as my "porch" light switch, so that I can have the "porch" light on, or the grab handle on. remove the grab handle and drill a hole for a tight press fit of the T10 LED into each end. replace "porch" light switch and reconnect "porch" light wires. run the wires from the LEDS into the RV and connect the two "power" wires to open terminal on "porch" light switch. connect two remaining wires from LEDS to ground. If you want to light the step, just install LEDS and run the power wire to the "porch" light switch. either one side or both.
