The brake lights in the back are wider than the window and it doesn't have 3 lights in the back across the top...just one on either side.

It definitely isn't a '65...it has 7 panels whereas a '65 has 5. '63 was the last year for 7 panels.

The marker lights above the windows are a CA vs OH thing...I have noticed the OH trailers from the early 60's have the marker lights whereas the CA trailers do not.
The wide spread tail lights might be because your trailer originally came with a spare tire mounted to the back bumper. I know they did that in the early 60's as an option...it has since been realized that it caused undue stress on the frame and most will agree it isn't a good idea.

Welcome to the forums! You'll find many helpful folks and great info here.
You can do that if you want to. Just use the link below and request a name change. I'm sure they will oblige if it's not already taken.

The red pine is from up north, not Belleville. Thanks to all for the helpful info, muchly appreciated. I better not change by ID though until I find the exact year.

The 6201 tells you it was off the assembly line in January of 1962 so go right ahead and change your ID. The rest of your serial number (22TS S0732) indicates a 22 foot with twin beds made in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The remainder of your serial number is the sequential number of your trailer off the assembly line.
Welcome aboard, since its a Land Yacht. As previously mentioned, use the search feature for your questions, or ask here, and post lots of pictures. We love pictures.
Brad

I found this post on a "help with VIN #" thread:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/740691-post2.html
It outlines how to decode a VIN #
Hope it helps.

Mary, the proper link for pre-1980 VINs (and more) can be found at http://www.airforums.com/forums/f238...tml#post445050. But the pre-1980 pdf has a bigger problem -- it doesn't show the difference between Ohio & California VINs. So Safari65 can't count on any pdf.
Mary, you got it right that he is ready to use your http://www.airforums.com/forums/sendmessage.php link to contact tech support for that name change!
Safari65 - I fully believe that InsideOut and flyfshr are giving you the correct recommendation. The broader resource that Shari linked in post 3 is Steve Dial's web page -- Vintage Airstream Photo Archives -- look there for examples of other year VINs. More to the point -- look at the VIN in the link Shari gave you (emphasis on the red underlined area):
Your VIN of 22TS S0732 gives a sequential production number of 0732 - which falls between the 0630 and 0875 given in the attached image. And there are no similar 22TS S0732 VINs on Steve Dial's page. Does this mean 875 minus 630 = 145 Safaris produced at the California plant that year? The parenthetical remark in the image suggests 145 might be the number for both California Safaris & Flying Clouds together -- but others might give that a better guess.
So go ahead and send your message -- you've got a 62. (what does the title call it anyway?) But I checked the database -- we've already got members with usernames 62Safari and Safari62. Available are either 62 Safari or Safari 62. Okay?

That user name is already in use. Please choose another, like Safari 62 with a space or pick something similar but different from those already chosen.
