Land Yacht Leveling

I'm looking at a 2005 Land Yacht Motor Home. The seller doesn't know what kind of leveling system but does know it doesn't work. Can someone tell me what manufacturer Airstream used in 2005 for leveling systems? HWH? Big Foot?
Many thanks
Jim

A quick look at the manual on the Airstream webpage indicates it was potentially just an option... so the first question may be, does it have a levelling system.
A google search for "2005 airstream land yacht leveling system" returned several pictures and listings of 2005 models for sale that show the control panel and system being a "Power Gear" controller from Lippert.
Hopefully that helps a bit, or someone with an actual 2005 chimes in. There are also a few posts for land yachts in the late 90's through early 00's discussing Power Gear leveling systems. This sub-forum may worth a look or search:

Good luck!

Thanks. From what I've read, they did use Power Gear. I've done a fair amount of research on them and Power Gear has lots of problems. HWH is the best system out there and I do believe it would be better in the long run to let them take the Power Gear stuff off and install the HWH system. $4K Can't understand why a class act like Airstream would use a second rate leveling system. Oh well.

Mine has Power Gear leveling and considering its age, no problem other than my two front levels were leaking. They were taken to a farm equipment shop that deals with hydrolics regularly and rebuilt. Cost $150 total.

Otherwise only issue is when its very cold they take longer to extend.

My 2005 has power gear leveling. I changed out my coach batteries one year and left the power switch on to the coach and chassis and I believe this is what fried out my main board. I have also replaced the key pad twice. It is twitchy, I have had some issues with it, but I cant say it is any more or less than other systems on the coach

I own a 2005 LYG 30 SO and have had intermittent minor problems with the jacks. The first was low hydraulic fluid in the reservoir, easy fix, replenish the fluid. Second was poor contact of the ground on the house batteries. Easy fix, I had a disconnect on the house batteries and the contact was bad, so I removed the disconnect. Fixed the problem. Hope this helps.

Sometimes the "system" needs to be "reset" like any other electronic device. Check it out.

Not sure if your having this issue but my motor would not turn, after investigation I found that condensation from the hood cover had been dripping on top of the motor and shorted it out. Look at the top of the motor for excessive rust.
