Keyless Entry System

Where is the keyless entry system control module located on a 1992 Airstream Land Yacht motorhome 30ft? Owners Manual indicates its mounted on the wall under the galley, but I didn 't find it there. What does the module look like, what size is it? Or is it located on the wall adjacent to the entry door jamb which would place it behind the refrigerator. Help ! !

It should be under the galley on your unit, I believe. It's enclosed in a brown or black box, and will have the master access code affixed to it. I doubt seriously that it's behind your refrigerator. In my case, it was under the armrest of my front sofa, fastened to the wall and floor, within 3 feet of the keypad.

Try a search for 'keyless entry'. I recall another member or two with this feature on their MH.

Good luck!

I contacted Airstream Customer Service giving my VIN and Coach Serial numbers, and they responded with the correct code for the Keyless Entry System.
Thank you to everyone who responded.

I am glad I found this post. I could find no information on my deadbolt. Looking under the galley sink I did see the "black box" and sure enough, right on top was the keyless code in quotations.
Now, I just have to figure out what I can do to get the bolt to extend deep enough into the door to actually LOCK it. Currently, it only extends in enough to maybe hold the screen door closed, nothing else.

I want one on my Safari. Even a mechanical push-button type would be a real asset.

Thanks in advance for this information. I have the keyless entry and it currently works fine = but if it does not work - I have the answers. Thanks again.

You have to shim the door in or out a little - once you get the slot in the door edge lined up with the deadbolt it will go in all the way, not gust hang up on the edge. If its real far off you may have to drill the rivets on the plastic fitting that the dead bolt goe in out and reposition it and rivet it in Place. I groved the holes on our 93 LY and used sheetmetal screws so it can be adjusted.

If anyone has a problem with the module, it can be replaced with one out of an early 90's Ford product (i.e Lincoln,Thunderbird,Tauras etc.). Most of the modules in the autos are located in the trunk. I have two spares and would suggest possibly getting a spare now while the junk yards still have them.

Keyless Entry

Ours has the Keyless entry too, looks like the Lincoln Town Car variety.
We also have a deadbolt, never used the keyless thing.
Reason: RV's are about as easy to break into as ripped screen door. Locks on the doos only keep the honest people out.
Once on our prior Class A we were the victims of a slick crook. We paid for storage in an RV Storage yard and one month I went to pay the rent and noticed the big Class A next to me was missing. I asked the attendent where Bob had gone to now?
His reply was, "Oh, he moved to another Storage Lot after the break-ins. We had 22 RV's broken into and one stolen." The thief had apparently systematically broken into 22 coaches and stolen Miro-Wave's, Stereo's,
Tape Players, Tools, TV's, etc, etc.. He loaded it all into an Airstream Trailer, cut the lock on the gate and hit the road.
I went to check my coach and it was locked and looked good outside. I peered in the heavily tinted window and saw a hole in the kitchen cabinets where the Mircro Wave had been. I opened the same window the crook used and saw a dirty footprint on the couch. My stuff was all gone too and he locked the door on the way out. I was victim #24.
Fast forward a few years when I stored our Airstream Land Yacht in a locked building with a friend's big rig. The crooks cut a hole in the metal door of the bulding and did there thing out of sight in the building. My buddy's RV was locked up tight, our was unlocked. They smashed through
his skylight to get in and destroyed his main entrance door with it's elaborate lock system to get the loot out. Ours was searched but since we didn't have the latest electronic's, not much was taken and we had no damage. All the locks in the world would have only made the crooks more sure they were on to something good and I would have suffered needless damage.
