Just got a "new" Land Yacht motorhome

Greetings,
I just got a "new" to me, 2004 Land Yacht with one slide. It has the Workhorse Chevy chases and Allison tranny.
I am flying to Alabama on Sunday to pick it up and drive it to its new home in Minnesota.
I appreciate forums like this and am looking forward to learning many things from this group.

Wow, a major first drive! I hope you have a list of the "usual suspects" to check before the drive: oil, coolant, tire age and pressures, cellphone and charger. The major issue I had with a first drive was clouded dual pane windows: I didn't see the Mustang next to me on the right when I changed lanes.

since then I added yellow LED turn signal lights on the mirror supports to make lane changes more visible: I have always been a confirmed turn-signal user.

I found the cruise control to be nice to use, although there's usually too much traffic for dedicated use.

Stay Safe, LLAP.

Welcome

Welcome to the Airstream Motor Home Forum. It's a good place for answers
because many of us have had your problem before and have shared our experience. Search old posts first, then ask your questions. We've had our Airstream for 16 years and have learned aa lot right here,

When you build your Airstream garage, I have made one mistake with mine that I never anticipated. Our Land Yacht it 11'4" tall and i built the door opening to fit, I had 10' side walls and our RV door in the gable end, as close to the side wall as I could get.
Problem is nothing else fits in that short door. We considered other motor homes and they are all to tall. Good thing we like the Land Yacht so much.
