I purchased my camera system on AliExpress.com.
I would recommend looking around at what’s available locally and compatible with your current system, so you can use the existing wiring. Then you can always look on AliExpress to see if you can find something comparable. Just make sure whichever camera you buy it has a wide enough viewing angle. I put two cameras on the back. One that allows me to look at the hitch and tow vehicle and the other that allows me to look further behind. I also added two side cameras which are great when changing lanes. That being said, It may be easier to keep it simple and find one camera that will work as good backup camera with your current system.

Captain Paul, wanted to see if you have any pics of your dash area. Just bought a 2001 30LY, and someone previously installed a very large TV in the center area of dash. Just removed it, and now I have a very big hole. looking at maybe making a frame out of oak, and mount a new 7" rearview camera screen, 7" navigation display, usb ports, and not sure about the rest of the space. any ideals?

Captain Paul, can you give me info on replacing the carpet in the front area? does this take a special type of carpet to work around and over the dog house?
thanks

I initially thought about mounting the rearview camera where the TV was but felt like the rearview camera worked better mounted up higher like a rearview mirror. I then replace the TV with a new TV and Blu-ray player. Weather permitting I run over to where I have my motorhome stored and try to take a picture of the front – so you can see how it looks now.

Regarding the carpet… I don’t think it matters too much. The carpet I used had a soft back that was fairly heavy. When I pulled the carpet off of the doghouse I use that as a template. I used 3M high-strength number 90 spray contact adhesive (green can). Most important thing is just take your time and work one small section at a time around the doghouse. Feel free to P.M. me and we can exchange phone numbers if you want to talk it through or have more questions.

I used Noico 80 mil car Sound deadening mat from Amazon.com. One36 ft.² pack and one18 ft.² pack to cover the wood in the drivers and passengers area, and two layers on the driver door. One on the inner panel and one on the outer panel.

Remodel

Can you show a closer picture of how you attached the day/night shade strings to the command hook? I would also like to see the front console. It looks amazing. I am currently working on sound deadening and heat shielding in the cab and under the hood. I never thought about putting sound proofing in the door, but I did plan on putting new gasket on the door as it does not seal well.

Thanks for the pictures and the info.

Nicely done.

Just bought a 1996 33' Land Yacht that my wife and I are about to renovate. Though we are looking more at furniture replacement instead of reupholstering since some of furniture is not original anyway.

Interior remodel

Here’s a photo of the command hooks that I used for the day/night shades. I just drilled a small hole and then used a clear plastic bead to keep the string from pulling through. Also, is a picture of the front dash. I still have to mount the sound bar underneath the TV. I will add some more photos of the dash when I am finished.

Looks great!!! What size TV? 32 or 24".

Almost identical to the conversion I did when the 19" tube TV was removed. It also reduced excess weight on the front end.

My TV is 24" with built in DVD player on the side. I used the smaller 24' Bose sound bar too which made a huge difference in sound.

Thanks for sharing all the photos! I now have a list of new ideas for our 2005 26ft land yacht! We added MCD Dual Roller Shades and that will also modernize the coach..plus it really cools it down in the summer.

Looks beautiful. Great job. I just purchased my very first RV, a 1998 land yacht 30 ft. It is in great shape, but anxious to make it look as nice as yours.
