Hot/Cold Shower

We're on the road again and discovered a new problem and need advice and experience for an easy fix.
While showering, the pump stops and starts and goes Hot to Cold in spurts. Aggrivating for sure, but why? The shower is on full, but apparently not using water fast enough. Or is there another cause for this problem?
Tomorrow I'll take the head apart to see if there is an obstuction of water,
but I don't think so, because I get a good flow.
Any experience and solutions out there?
Thanks,
Paul

It sounds like the bypass valves around the hot water tank were not put in their proper position after winterizing. Generally they are set in a certain position to avoid filling them with anti-freeze. But you have to put them back or you will get the problem you are experiencing. That happened to me once several years ago. It should be an easy fix if that is what it is.
