Does someone know what Ford vehicle the headlights & taillights are from on a 2000 Land Yacht XL350? Mine are very fogged up and wanted to get replacements

Those appear to be 2000 Ford Explorer front lamps & 1993 Econline rear

Do yourself a favor and try to get NEW OEM lamps from Ford, not cheap aftermarket stuff.

Headlight/Taillight housing replacements

New OEM replacements from ford are hugely expensive.

Check "Rockauto.com" for aftermarket replacements that are reasonably priced. I have purchased several sets from them over the years to replace yellowed lenses on different cars/trucks. Most recently I changed my friends headlight housings on his 2004 Toyota Tundra. Rockauto….$30.00 each side and that included new bulbs! Toyota wanted $250.00 each!!!! The Rockauto parts fit perfectly.

Your $$$$$. You decide.

From "Rockauto.com" site. New headlight housings can be purchased for just over $40.00 for both sides and that includes new bulbs. Taillight housings are $19.01 each. So less than $40.00 for both. That's $80.00 plus a bit of shipping and your all done. No brainer.

Call any Ford dealer and get a price for new Motorcraft OEM parts. Be sitting down when you get the quote. Just sayin.....

I have been turning wrenches for over 50 years and have found that sometimes, but not always, you can find decent replacement parts at a decent price. There are some things you have to go the OEM route on because no aftermarket part is available. Then you just suck it up and hand over the cash.

Safety is hard to put a price on.

Those replacements are cheap for a reason. They may have the same appearance but doesn't mean they are of the same quality or focus the beam correctly. Headlamps are very important safety devices. Same goes for the bulbs. Use these and only these if you're serious about night-time vision.

Doesn't look like the lamps are that expensive from Ford. ~$78ea left & $57 right

Your Airstream is too much of an investment to cheap out on $100 price difference

Quality of aftermarket headlight housings

I have installed at least a dozen sets of aftermarket headlight housings from Rockauto. I have yet to have any problems with fit. Additionally I have had no problems properly aiming them. The beam patterns have been consistent with the original housings. The majority of the housings I have installed have come with properly sized halogen bulbs.

OEM parts are generally of high quality. You will pay more for them. They are not without fault. I have worked in the service side of several major car dealerships (Infinity, Volvo, Ford, GM dealerships) and I can tell you that more than once an OEM part was defective right out of the box. Many times aftermarket or NON OEM parts are installed at dealerships because the aftermarket has designed a better part.

Example...Ford 4.6 lt engines had huge problems with the plastic intake manifolds. They would break at about 80k miles and all the coolant would leak out and many engines were toasted. Dorman, an aftermarket supplier designed a superior product that most Ford dealers installed when a 4.6 lt rolled in with a busted intake manifold. Thee replacement Ford part (still the crummy bad design) was around $600.00, the Dorman part was around $300.00. Go figure.

I get that. I too have been in automotive parts and service for 15 years.

I'm not saying the lamps won't fit or have incorrect bulbs installed. I also know that a lot of times the aftermarket will develop "problem-solving" solutions to known issues with certain OEM designs. I don't think replacement lamps fall into this category.

Here's a good read about someone's experience with aftermarket lamps https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...ght-Assemblies

I recently shelled out $500 for some OEM Mopar euro-export lamps for my in-law's PT Cruiser and another $500 for OEM GMC Denali lamps for my 2005 Sierra. I'm envious of your $130 Ford lamps.
