Question Gas Tank Venting and Overfill

I have a 1998 LY 31 ft and when I fill it up with gas it leaks out the top for a while and then stops. I looked underneather and there appears to be a round hole at the top on the drivers side of the fuel tank that has a piece of ruuber held on by a hose clamp. Is this normal?

I used to have a rv that had something like that. The generator drew gas from the main gas tank. Po bypassed it and it would always leak when I filled it up.

Gas tank fill leaking

My Brother-in-law has just removed his gas fill hose and found it was RADIATOR hose NOT gas line hose. It was eaten away by the gas. Airstream put this in at manufacutre. Check it out.
