Fuel system woes

Hello, we have a 2002 chassis 33' LY, nice low mileage at 11,000. The beast was in for inspection and running rough; they found the fuel filters clogged and worked back to injectors and fuel rails all needing cleaning, so apparently the tank is sludged up with something gicky. (Maybe low mileage is not always a good thing.) She will be heading into the shop for a more specific diagnosis, but in the meantime I am tasked with finding a new tank to replace the old one if necessary, and of course filler neck and straps and lines. The shop says these Workhorses are notorious for not liking after-market parts and there will be much back-and-forth shipping likely. How do I go about finding the correct parts for our particular VIN?

New tank>>>I've never replaced a tank for being gicky.

Remove and look for a local tank cleaning service.

As far as aftermarket parts...it's GM, should not be a problem.

I would start with used auto parts locations. The tank is common on Chevy trucks. While your at it....if you can get a larger tank to fit....get it!! Anything to increase your driving range is good.

Thanks, fellas, we are getting knee-deep in these gas issues. We are hoping to avoid tank replacement, but we have found a leak in the filler neck that may be letting gickiness happen in the tank. It has been boxed over by someone else, unfortunately riveted on so we need to let the newly-pumped gas dissipate before we can drill out the rivets and find what this metal box encloses. It looks to be a jury-rigged repair of some sort; they had also cut a hole in the floor at the foot end of the bed for access, and then this box was built to enclose . . . something. We looked around with a scope camera and the tank looks good on the inside, but we need to address this filler neck issue so the tank can accept more than ten gallons of gas. Always something!
