Front Coil Airbags

Can someone tell me the best place to buy new front airbags for the 2002 AS WH (Gas)? Is this a DIY or a job best left to a truck garage? Thank you.

I am assuming you have the Chevy P-30 something chassis, and not the Workhorse chassis.

Definitely a DIY job if you are just a little bit handy - big learning curve, though.

There are many sources - I think that all of the P-3X front coils are the same, so the same part no. covers a lot of years.

Do a search on "Air Bag Replacement" or "Changing Airbags" (the search engine is not very intelligent, so you may have to ask the same question a couple of different ways).

This subject has been covered several times in the past and each one who has written up the procedure uses a slightly different method.

Several versions of a shop chassis manual are available from independent publishers, most list there own method of removing and replacing the bags. These manuals are available in most larger DIY auto parts stores as well as on e-bay.
