Fiberglass Roof Maintenance

I have a 1998 Land Yacht P30. As far as I know the roof has never been treated. The unit has been stored inside when not in use for the last 20 years. Is there any treatment required, like coating?

I would not do anything except keep it clean and maybe use some spray wax on it. I really like Turtle Wax Ice spray. Easy to use and works great.

Mine is a 1997 with fiberglass roof. All I do is wash it about twice per year and check all the calking joints and points where things come through the roof like antenna, solar panel, and especially along the front and rear cap joints. Had a weird leak that turned out to be from the FM antenna over the passenger seat. It had a hairline crack so we actually removed it and installed a rubber antenna with new seals. Those around the skylights usually need to be touched up. While washing the roof I also pay attention to the narrow gutter ridge on both sides to make sure its not blocked.

Another tip!!

While your on the roof be sure to check your front marker lights over the windshield. If they are original, odds are they will need some caulking too. I replaced mine with LEDs and it made a big difference. Will do the rear next.
