1994 Landyacht Rear Brakes

Recently had all six tires replaced. When the rear tires were off I noticed the rear disks had cracks radiating out from the hub to the outer edge and the pads were minimal thickness. I took the coach to a local trucker repair shop that services everything from school buses to firetrucks. They had no idea where to find replacement brake parts for a Landyacht and advised not driving it until I could find parts. I'm stuck as I cannot find who manufactured the braces or where to find parts. Any help would be welcome as it just sits in the driveway until repaired. Thanks!

Do you know what chassis yours is built on? That will tell you what brake system you have.

94 Landyacht Brakes

I believe it is an Oshkosh chassis but not positive.

I believe that Freightliner now owns the Oshkosh chassis, so a Freightliner dealer should be able to help you. One other source that may help is:

https://www.millsupply.com/

You'll probably need to know engine size as well. Surprised that the "Truck Repair" shop couldn't figure it out.

Found these NAPA part numbers on another site that may help. The parts were for a 1993 Tiffin Allegro on an Oshkosh chassis but they may be relevant to yours.

Brake rotor NB 4885860
Wheel seal NOS 31870
Pad SS 7141 M
Caliper (rem) SE 5393

Hope this helps.

Further reading finds that this is a common problem with Oshkosh owners. Lots of confusion on parts and a lack of availability. Never had an issue with my MH but it's based on a simple P30 chassis and parts are all over the place.

94 Landyacht Braakes

Thanks 92 Landyacht for all the input on getting brake parts. Have a Freightliner facility about 30 minutes away and will check with them first. Since I can't do the work myself, they may be my go to source. Just hope it doesn't break the bank!

It's a motorhome and a Freightliner. Guaranteed to at least bend the bank.

Rear wheels

I have a 1997 AS Land Yacht with the same hubs and chassis. Everything is from Freightliner. Last week I had new tires mounted and took photos of all the hubs which have part numbers stamped on them.

If you did not take photos, to avoid removing the tires, I would be glad to send copies of mine so you can reference the numbers. Oshkof was bought by Freightliner sometime around 1995 and most of the part numbers are still valid.

Preparing for a trip from GA to CA next month so working on it today installing a new solar panel.
