Would look quite spiffy behind the Mistress

Me thinks I may have to upgrade my hitch.

Probably the most beautiful boat I've ever seen.

Aeroboat | Claydon Reeves

If you want to hear what it would sound like close up…..

Cheers

You're bloody right I should……….but the wife is having second thoughts at the legality of us selling our first and second born into Saudi servitude. Heck, I think even the wife may have to be included in the deal, although she may require some modifications. I'll let you know how I make out.

Cheers

I think you should by two of them so you can have one ready to go on each coast. I'll be happy to take care of the one on the west coast so it will be ready to go when you get here.

Dan

If you're willing to anty up for the Avgas petrol to power a 27 Litre Merlin V12 at full chat I'll let you hunt down go-fast drug boats all day long.

I'll chat with the bloke that's building them and possibly ask for the 35 Litre Griffon V12 as an upgrade.

She does kinda look like a WWII PT boat doesn't she. I wonder if the deck is long enough for a couple of Mark 48's?

If people out there are wondering what in HE double hockey sticks does this boat have to do with an Airstream Classic motorhome……..it's all about iconic style. The Spit and the Merlin are to Limeys, what the Airstream is to Yanks. If someone out there built a stylized aluminum Airstream boat with a couple of thundering big V8's, it would be all over this site.

Cheers
Tony

Hey Tony you get the boat and I'll spring for some fuel, not a problem.

Thats really an eye catching design! On a trailer should be well over 50 feet long = quite a package on the road.
That interesting design of the aft section really looks to be set up for twin engines. So I think the base v12 times two should be enough power, at least for recreational use. :-)

It is a beauty, I like ride!

It's a single V12 driving twin screws……which is enough when the 27 litre engine is supercharged and punching out 1600 hp. Two merlin in a boat this small would be overkill at best, suicidal at worst.

I don't know what the gallon per hour GPH of a Merlin in the aerodynamic bodywork of a Spitfire is, but what I do know is that the GPH will be significantly higher in a boat.

You're right about the package being a bit too long. I was being a bit sarcastic about upgrading my hitch; it would be my common sense that would need an upgrade should I even consider trying to tow a boat that long and heavy.

Cheers

Oh for sure Tony, one of those beasts of an engine would be more than enough.
I was just trying to continue the over the top humor with my comment.
I clearly remember seeing / hearing similar engines in unlimited hydroplane race boats as a kid. They leave an impression that stays with you.

Thanks for posting tho, a truly beautiful boat. I'd still like a ride.

Cheers Richard
