Wire diagram

Any body got a pic of the diagram for ‘82,’83,’84, ‘85 or 86. I know ther was no consistency in the colors but it would be good to see the pathways. It would be helpful since I am completely reworking behind the dash. It was a rats nest of wires. Thanks.

Look on Classic sticky thread circa post 91 for the Chevy Service manuals. Download them, especially the electrical one. Familiarise yourself with differences between stock Chevy and Airstream wiring. There should be a 1983 Airstream Service Manual (not Owners manual) on the site. If not, PM me and I can email it to you.

cheers
Nick

Thanks for the information, I still have not found the diagram I am looking for. One of the things I would like to know is what the resin filled “black box” glued to the back of the dash is for. Many wires lead to it. In fact there are two. One is glued to the other. What function does it provide? It seems that wires from many systems go to them. Could it be removed to simplify the wiring? Also, there is a bank of 6 large diodes on an aluminum angle bracket they are very exposed and it appears that they spliced into the wiring. Was that a standard item? Thanks again for the help.

Might be the washer/wiper module. That was an Airstream add on. Look on the site for Rostra. I posted something about it which related to my 1991 250. It had the diagrams etc

It's probably the module Airstream installed to monitor "water in fuel", "windshield washer level", "coolant level", etc.

It was a custom module that failed early in life. WayneG was reproducing them but that option sadly is no longer available.

Ah…..:Airstream’s magic box……not sure it worked when it was new, cut it out and throw it in the garbage. The answer to your second question I believe is the speed control for the auxiliary heating fan located on the galley floor somewhere. Regards, Bob

The aux heat is the heater under the dinette that runs off engine coolant? I couldnt see a fan on mine. Nor wires going to it that might indicate a fan.

thanks,
Aaron
