What Do You Get When You Combine...

A vintage 1984 Airstream Funeral Coach and a state of the art German Putting Analysis Computer Setup?

You get a rolling PuttLab.

That's right folks Airstream One is now a rolling Science and Motion Sports, SAM PuttLab.

After installing the new floating hardwood floor my friends at Truline Putting Greens sent me a raw roll of their putting mat material. I carved it into a manageable 13' mat that when laid out becomes a "tour fast" surface to test on.

Early this year I began to represent Science and Motion in the SE USA and have been introducing the equipment to golf instructors. The equipment is ultra-sound based and allows the instructor to quantify 28 parameters in the putting stroke. it is the absolute state of the art in putting analysis.

With the ability to test in the bus I don't have to worry about the weather and some of the tour pros I work with don't have to worry about being seen testing. In fact Denis Watson the winner of the 2007 US PGA Senior Championship was the first to test in Airstream One last month in Cary, NC. His performance that week placed him 5th with better putting than his year to date prior to working with me on the SAM.

The software is installed on the wall mounted computer and results are displayed on the new 25" HD LCD. (that's the old 20" monitor now deceased)

Now you all know some of what I do on the road with my Airstream.

If Eadweard Muybridge had an Airstream he would have done the same.

Accelerating away from a stoplight gives a whole new appreciation for the fizziks of putting. Run the program thru the gas pedal and you could duplicate any sloped or rolling green.

Kudos Glen!

New technique. Visualize couches on each side of the path to the cup.

Caution, may require visualizing curved sectionals on sloping greens.

Punch a hole through the floor in each corner of the MH.
Put threaded rods through the holes. Put a nut and large fender washer on each rod above and below the floor. Put a hard rubber ball on the bottom end of each rod. lubricate the rods with WD-40. Spin the rods with 2nd hand 12v portable drills wired together to the dash. Viola!

Plug the holes with duct tape on rainy days.

You're not far off with your suggestion, even if in jest. I've looked at a lot of solutions, all of which are expensive and require many man hours of install labor.

I think the real solution is electric rather than hydrolic.

However the floor gets in the way of the heaviest of the electric trailer jacks unless you make a four corner outrigger (ugly) design to stabilize and lift your rig.

Now if the world was truly flat as the old folks said, we'd never have this problem...
