What did this do?

In cleaning my 345 saw this (yellow arrow) & wondered what purpose it served, after seeing the same broken piece on bora77's 370LE (borrowed his photo), seems to be a common issue. How essential are the weep hole covers?

Also, can anyone suggest a source for the rubber that is used as the radiator/body surround, i.e, that forces the air thru the radiator. I'm missing everything on the curb side of the radiator & need to replace.

Weep hole covers are a semi elegant method to keep the mud wasps out.

As for the the radiator, it depends on if you are talking about the shroud around the engine fan or the wheel well internal walls.

The shroud will be a junk yard solution. Wheel well internal walls will probably need to be custom made for your setup.

The engine/radiator shroud is the piece I'm referring to. As a semi-frequent visitor to salvage yards, I'm at a loss as to what kind of vehicle I'd find something that large.
