I have had an oil pressure gauge show zero three times in my life; twice due to bad sending units and once due to a bolt coming loose on the oil cooler on my brand spanking new 88 Silverado. I luckily happen to see the needle bounce twice before hitting bottom, clutched in, turned the engine off and coast to the next town. Needless to say I didn't need to get oil rustproofing done that year as the oil was everywhere under the truck.
All three managed to get the pumper going right quick though.

PS The gauge to watch closely also is the temp gauge as these motors hate running hot.

All the best on your new journey.
Cheers
Tony

517 miles today. Out of New Mexico, all of Arizona and into California. Slow going up the hills. I may have watched the gauges too closely... It feels good to be in Cali. Spending my first night in a rest stop. The Desert Oasis outside Barstow CA. So tired and ready to be home. 404 miles to get home tomorrow. I can not wait to take this out with my family and start testing and using all the systems.

So far I have learned some quirks like how to make the drivers seat sit up for an hour or two and how to close the door properly.

Oh, 14.5 mph. I like that.

I am home. Took hubby and son for a drive on West Cliff to see the ocean then tried to figure out how to get it in the driveway. That was hard. I think we need to buy little ramps for in and out. Big ramps. Also, the gate is in the middle of the driveway and neither side is long enough for the airstream. We knew that though and plan to build a new one taller and closer too the street so the airstream is behind it. Tonight it hangs into the sidewalk a little and the gate is open. But I am home and safe. We have to take care of this one because I am not doing that again.

You did a great job of getting that MH home. Very few wives would have attempted that!

Fantastic Consider yourself in a pretty elite club; albeit a pretty lonely club of one, as I know of only one other lady in her 70's that has taken a 325 on a long trip herself after her husband died. Luckily she knew her coach inside and out, which you didn't.

Very well done.
Cheers
Tony

Waiting for old gate removal to fit all the way in. I am thinking about the motivation question. The short answer is stupidity. I will have to get back to you on the long answer.

I get the stupidity part, but as to really why, I maybe able to help.

This may give you a clue..........How many people gave you the thumbs up, hooted at you on the highway or gazed longingly at your coach while towing SOB white bread box; did anyone want to see inside or just stand there and take her all in....

Glad you made it home in one piece.

Cheers
Tony

Thank you.

Back at work, school and mothering this week. We ripped out our old driveway fence and hope to get started with the new one this weekend. Since it is mostly gate we might just buy a pre-fab one and figure it out ourselves. Not something we want to spend much time on, but will feel better once it is up. Protect the airstream and ourselves.

I will take sometime of next week and go to the DMV and hopefully take care of all the paperwork. Then we need to start the cleaning and assessing process. There are all kinds of things in it plus the dust of many years. I expect a few trash bags and a couple of free boxes to be removed. The previous owner left a lot of stuff.

I does not seem to have water damage, probably because it was kept inside. We need to replace almost all the seals I have seen, but our California drought is keeping it dry for now.

We also need to find local mechanics and systems help. Suggestions are welcome.
