Transporting a 280 AND Gas Mileage Opinions on a 325

Anyone have any idea how much it would cost (or even who to contact or how that works) to transport a 280 from the west coast to the midwest? It might be cheaper than flying out and driving back.

Was looking at a 454 325. Owner said it got 6mpg. Is that accurate? I've heard 8-10 for 345 and those have to be heavier.

We haven't bought one. Just considering options.

Speaking of which... does anyone have a 280 with a center lounge they'd like to sell? Love that floor plan!

Thanks

Our 1984 310 got 4-5 mpg when we bought it, 6-7 after we had the carburetor rebuilt. Newer models with fuel injection and overdrive transmissions will do better.

For me, flying in and driving it home would be a blast, even if it cost more... which I cant see it would!
